Beginner guide in consent & safety, 2 minute read
If something goes wrong: reporting and getting help
What to do if a person crosses a line, online or in person, and where to find support.
If you're in danger
If you're in immediate danger, call 911 (or your local emergency number). Your safety comes before anything else here.
Reporting on the platform
- Use Report on the profile, message, post or event. Reports about minors or non-consensual content go to the top of the queue.
- Block the person if you don't want any further contact. They can't see your profile, posts or events, or message you.
- You don't need to confront anyone or explain yourself to report.
Keep a record
- Screenshot messages, profiles and anything else relevant before blocking, and note dates and times.
- Write down what happened while it's fresh: where, when, who was there.
- Records help moderators act, and help you if you decide to go to the police later.
If an intimate image of you was shared
Use our takedown form. You don't need an account, and we remove valid reports within 48 hours. StopNCII.org can also help stop images spreading to other sites.
Support
- RAINN National Sexual Assault Hotline: 800-656-4673, or chat at rainn.org. Free, confidential, 24/7.
- 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: call or text 988 if you're in crisis.
- A kink-aware therapist can help you process an experience without judgment about your lifestyle.
What happened isn't your fault, whatever you'd agreed to beforehand. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
